Manchester City midfield anchor Rodri has addressed speculation regarding a future move to Real Madrid, notably refusing to rule out a return to the Spanish capital.
Speaking with radio station Onda Cero on Wednesday evening, the Spain international praised the “imposing” nature of the Santiago Bernabéu and the passion of the Los Blancos supporters.
While acknowledging his deep connection to English football, Rodri admitted the physical toll of the league. “I have to admit that the Premier League is my weakness; it is very demanding, meaning it pushes you to the limit,” he remarked.
When questioned if his past with rivals Atlético Madrid would prevent a move to Real, Rodri dismissed the idea: “No, there have been many players who have gone down that path, right? Especially not directly, but over time.
For me, you can’t turn down the best clubs in the world.” He further highlighted the atmosphere in Madrid, noting, “They have a fanbase that really goes all out for them, and Bernabeu is always incredible.”
