Iran defender Hossein Abarghouei has declared his team fully prepared to face Nigeria in Friday’s high-stakes international friendly.
Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, the center-back dismissed concerns over a lack of collective training, insisting the squad is in peak physical condition.
“We have established an excellent camp… I hope we can bring joy to our supporters by achieving favorable results against Nigeria and Costa Rica,” Abarghouei stated.
He emphasized that these matches are critical steps toward Iran’s long-term World Cup aspirations.
Addressing the recent training interruptions, he added: “All national team members are professionals… It is not as if they have just been resting. All the players have been training individually.
Our physical condition is satisfactory, and we are prepared to compete with Nigeria.”Meanwhile, the Super Eagles camp in Turkey saw its numbers rise to 22 players on Wednesday with the arrival of Wilfred Ndidi.
However, Nigeria faces a setback following the withdrawal of Calvin Bassey due to a back injury.
