Peterside Idah, the former media officer for the Super Eagles, has alleged that head coach Eric Chelle is prepared to step down following the conclusion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to Idah, the Tunisian national team has approached Chelle with a monthly salary of $100,000.
With Nigeria set to face Egypt in the AFCON third-place playoff this Saturday, Idah suggests that the lure of a massive financial package and the opportunity to lead a team in the 2026 World Cup makes the Tunisia offer highly tempting.
Speaking on Channels TV, Idah stated: “I hear he wants to go to Tunisia. They have offered him $100,000 per month. Not just that, he will make a name and that name is being a coach of a World Cup side.”
