Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has commented on the ongoing bonus dispute between the team and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Super Eagles players initially refused to train on Tuesday to protest the non-payment of outstanding bonuses and allowances, but returned to the pitch on Wednesday after the matter was resolved.

Speaking after Nigeria’s 4-1 win over Gabon in the World Cup qualifying playoff on Thursday, Victor Osimhen addressed the protest, stressing that while “some things have to be rectified,” he highly commended NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for his prompt action.

The Galatasaray striker praised Gusau for stepping in to resolve the players’ concerns ahead of the Gabon match: “I have to say big kudos to the NFF president, he swiftly came into the picture and got it sorted, which is fine and good,” Osimhen told ESPN UK. He added that with the win secured and “everything is resolved,” the team can move forward.Osimhen will look to guide Nigeria to another victory when they face Gabon again on Sunday.
