Galatasaray ace Victor Osimhen is ready to captain the Super Eagles in Wednesday night’s high-stakes AFCON semi-final.
With Wilfred Ndidi sidelined by suspension, the vice-captain has been tasked with leading Nigeria against tournament hosts, Morocco.
While Osimhen acknowledges the “Atlas Lions” have a distinct edge playing in front of their home fans, he remains unfazed by the atmosphere.
“Considering the kind of talents we have in the squad, I think there is no pressure in the camp,” Osimhen remarked. “We don’t even talk about the Morocco team; we just take one game as they come.”
The striker pointed to Nigeria’s dominant display against Algeria as proof of their title credentials but warned that the semi-final would be a different test: “It’s not going to be easy because the Moroccans are playing in thousands in front of their crowd, which is an advantage for them.”
