NPFL Hammers Remo Stars with Heavy Fine, Banishment Over Fan Violence

IKENNE – The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has wielded the big stick against Remo Stars, handing the club a staggering N7 million fine and ordering their immediate banishment to Ibadan.

The sanctions follow a series of security breaches and violent outbursts during their Matchday 20 South West derby against Ikorodu City.

Although Daniel Ogunmodede’s men secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory on the pitch, the post-match chaos has proven far more costly.

The fracas resulted in several injuries to Ikorodu City fans and significant damage to vehicles parked within the vicinity. The NPFL management, citing a failure to provide adequate security, has now “banished” the Sky Blue Stars from their home turf in Ikenne.
