Following a disappointing 2-1 defeat at St James’ Park on Wednesday, Manchester United boss Michael Carrick pulled no punches.
Despite Newcastle playing with 10 men after Jacob Ramsey’s red card, the Red Devils failed to capitalize. Anthony Gordon’s penalty and a late William Osula curler—split by a Casemiro header—sealed the win for the Magpies.
“We simply weren’t good enough,” Carrick told TNT Sports. “It wasn’t about them being down a man; we just didn’t perform. We all take responsibility, and we have to be better.”
