Sunderland boss Régis Le Bris has weighed in on the Premier League title race, suggesting that Arsenal possess a “more direct” goal-scoring edge over Manchester City.
His comments followed a gritty 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light on Thursday, where the Black Cats extended their unbeaten home run to 10 matches by stifling Pep Guardiola’s side.
While City struggled to break through Sunderland’s defense, Arsenal cruised to a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa earlier in the week. The result leaves City four points adrift of the Gunners.
“Arsenal are a bit more clinical,” Le Bris noted when comparing the two giants. “They are more direct with their ability to score, even if it’s not ‘pass, pass, pass.'”
Despite the dropped points, Guardiola maintained respect for the seventh-place Black Cats, labeling them a “tough team.”
