Following a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Newcastle United, Pep Guardiola has called on his squad to maintain their fighting spirit in the hunt for the Premier League title.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, the Manchester City boss praised his team’s performance, which featured a match-winning brace from Nico O’Reilly.
With the gap between City and leaders Arsenal now down to just two points, Guardiola emphasized that this level of intensity must be the standard moving forward.
“We have to improve to stay in the race until the end,” he noted, before granting his players a short break ahead of their upcoming clash with Leeds.
