Chelsea legend John Terry did not hold back in his assessment of the current team after their disappointing 3-1 loss to Leeds United.
Goals from Jaka Bijol and Ao Tanaka put Leeds up 2-0 at halftime, and though Pedro Neto managed to pull one back, Dominic Calvert-Lewin cemented the victory after a costly Chelsea defensive mistake.
Terry took to social media to express his anger, saying the team failed to meet Leeds’ intensity.
“You either go there and match them or you take the sting out of it completely… we certainly didn’t do that in the first half,” he said, adding that such a display “is certainly not going to make you title contenders.” The defeat sees Chelsea fall nine points behind Arsenal.
