Barcelona boss Hansi Flick offered no excuses following his side’s 2-1 loss to Girona on Monday, pointing directly to poor defensive positioning as the catalyst for the defeat.
Despite a goal from Pau Cubarsí, the Blaugrana couldn’t overcome their hosts, leaving them trailing Real Madrid by two points in the title race.
“We defended very poorly, especially in transition,” Flick remarked, noting that the team lacked the “hunger” required to win.
Barcelona now looks to pivot toward their upcoming clash with Levante to regain momentum.
