Eric Chelle has officially hit the one-year mark as head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, according to DAILY POST.
Since his appointment on January 7, 2025, the 48-year-old Malian tactician has transformed initial skepticism into growing support, largely due to Nigeria’s dominant form at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Chelle’s track record over the past 12 months is formidable: in 16 matches, the Super Eagles have secured 10 victories and five draws, suffering only a single defeat.
Under his leadership, the team has found its attacking rhythm, netting 34 goals while allowing 15. Chelle now shifts his focus to Saturday’s high-stakes AFCON quarter-final clash against Algeria’s Desert Foxes.
