Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, shared some thoughts about the team’s journey in this season’s Premier League after the tough 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
As he watched his team face off at the Etihad Stadium, Slot couldn’t help but notice that they now sit in eighth place on the Premier League table.
In his post-match interview, he emphasised that the focus should be on improving their performances rather than getting ahead of themselves with title talk.
“The title race isn’t what we should be discussing right now,” Slot said. “Our priority is to keep working hard and getting results. We need to take it one step at a time.”He added, “Right now, the facts are that we’re eighth in the table, and while one team is quite a bit ahead, City is only four points up. I’ve always believed that the best way to assess how things are going is to reflect on the table after 38 games, or at least after 19. Our main focus should be on improvement because that’s what we need right now.”
