Fulham head coach Marco Silva has revealed that formal talks to sign Samuel Chukwueze permanently have not yet begun, despite the player’s impressive form and apparent desire to stay at Craven Cottage.
In his Friday press conference, Silva reassured fans that the club has “protected ourselves with the deal,” confirming that an option to buy the 26-year-old Nigeria international is in place.
Silva’s Update: “No talks. We have protected ourselves with the deal. He’s been very good for us; let’s hope he can do the same things in the next 1-2 games. We have an option with him.”
Chukwueze has excelled since joining the London side, contributing five goals (two scored, three assisted) in just seven league appearances.
With the player reportedly eager to remain beyond this season, Silva remains confident that the permanent transfer will happen when the time is right.
