Barcelona winger Raphinha has opened up about the individual responsible for his decision to remain with the club during a period of uncertainty.

The Brazilian international shared these insights following his standout performance in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday.

Raphinha’s two goals, alongside a strike from Robert Lewandowski, secured a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in Jeddah.

The “Flick Effect”According to Raphinha, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was the primary reason he stayed at the club.

The German coach, who took over from Xavi in 2024, provided the winger with the reassurance he needed regarding his role in the squad.

“If Hansi Flick didn’t come, I would have left Barça. He changed everything,” Raphinha stated.

“He told me I was going to be important. This is what a player needs: confidence.”
