Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has voiced his frustration over officiating after his side was held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth on Friday night.
While United was granted one penalty which Fernandes scored to put the Red Devils up 1-0 a second major appeal involving Amad Diallo was dismissed by referee Stuart Attwell.
Despite the Premier League Match Centre’s claim that contact on Diallo was “not sufficient,” Fernandes was left baffled by the double standard, especially after Harry Maguire saw red for a similar challenge that gave Bournemouth a penalty.
“I don’t understand why one foul is a penalty, and the other isn’t,” Fernandes stated. “The foul on Amad is a penalty.”
