Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has pinpointed a lack of clinical focus as the primary reason for his side’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United.
Despite a promising start at Stamford Bridge, the Blues were undone by an Anthony Gordon strike that Rosenior believes shifted the momentum entirely in favor of the visitors.
The manager noted that while Chelsea created early openings, they failed to sustain their “mental freshness” in the final third once Newcastle took the lead.
The Blues must now regroup quickly as they shift their focus to a high-stakes Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
