The Nigerian football community is in mourning following the death of former Super Eagles midfielder Henry Nwosu at the age of 62.
His former teammate, Segun Odegbami, confirmed the news on Saturday, noting that Nwosu passed away early this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital after a brief period in intensive care.
Known affectionately as the “Youngest Millionaire,” Nwosu etched his name into history as a vital part of the 1980 squad that secured Nigeria’s first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil.
His passing marks the loss of one of the nation’s most celebrated sporting figures.
