Former defender Stephen Warnock has cautioned Manchester United against hiring Enzo Maresca to succeed Ruben Amorim.
Despite Maresca’s successful 18-month stint at Chelsea which included a Conference League title, a Club World Cup, and a top-four finish Warnock believes the Italian’s tendency to clash with club hierarchy makes him an “unnecessary risk.
“Comparing the situation to Amorim’s exit, Warnock noted that Maresca’s departure from Stamford Bridge followed disputes over internal policies, such as sports science protocols.
Warnock warned that United cannot afford another “volatile” personality if they want to achieve long-term stability.
