Tanzania head coach Manuel Gomandi remained upbeat following his side’s 2-1 loss to Nigeria in their AFCON opener on Tuesday.
While goals from Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman secured the win for the Super Eagles in Morocco, Gomandi praised the Taifa Stars for defying expectations.
“I think we surprised many people,” Gomandi told reporters, noting that critics expected his team to simply “park the bus.” Instead, he hailed his players for their bravery against the African giants.
Tanzania now shifts their focus to a must-win clash against Uganda, who also lost their opening match to Tunisia.
