Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is demanding his players actively create opportunities and “work hard” in their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City.
Speaking after a 2-0 LaLiga loss to Celta Vigo, Alonso criticized his side’s lack of intensity, stating they struggled to break down deep defenses because they were waiting for chances instead of chasing them.
He summed up the poor performance by saying the team only showed true effort “running and working hard” after being reduced to ten men.
