Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has weighed in on the club’s transfer targets, urging the Red Devils to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton instead of the linked Brighton prospect, Carlos Baleba.
Scholes expressed a preference for Wharton, stating he possesses more quality than Baleba. The former United midfielder drew a comparison between the 21-year-old Cameroonian, Baleba, and Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, questioning whether that style of player is what Manchester United truly needs.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Scholes explained:”I’d probably say I’d go for Wharton. I think he is got more quality than Baleba…
Baleba is very young. Quality-wise, is he quite there? I think he is almost in a Caicedo type of way. But is that the type of player Manchester United need? I’m not sure.”
