Following a stellar performance where he led Galatasaray to a 3-0 victory over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen revealed his two childhood heroes.
The 26-year-old, who netted a hat-trick in the win at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, stated that his inspirations are his brother and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Osimhen explained his choices to UEFA’s official website: “For me, it’s my brother in life and then, in football, it’s Didier Drogba.” He credited his brother, who sold sports newspapers on the roadside, with inspiring his “hustle so hard” mentality.
On the football side, Osimhen said he “tried to model my game to his” after Drogba, closely studying the Ivorian star’s playing style and life off the pitch.
