Arsenal stretched its lead at the Premier League summit to four points after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Gunners went into the match knowing a win would capitalize on Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat at Brentford the day before. Although Mikel Arteta’s side controlled much of the first half, they were frustrated in front of goal until a late moment of brilliance.
The crucial and only goal of the match arrived just before the break, courtesy of former Palace playmaker, Eberechi Eze. He celebrated his first league goal for Arsenal by executing an acrobatic volley from inside the box.
The result now gives Arsenal 22 points, four more than second-placed Bournemouth, who also won their fixture 2-0 against Nottingham Forest.
