FIFA has officially notified participating nations of the critical deadlines for submitting their squad lists ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
For the upcoming tournament in North America, final squads will consist of 26 players. To allow for injury cover and tactical adjustments, teams are permitted to submit an extensive provisional list of up to 55 players by the May 11 deadline.
Following this preliminary phase, FIFA has mandated that countries must trim their rosters by June 1, dropping 29 players to finalize their 26-man squads by May 30.
These selected players will then travel for the tournament, which kicks off on June 11 with an opening fixture between Mexico and South Africa.
